Home is a multi-media project that explores the role of home--as location, destination, memory, history and myth--in the consciousness of Israelis and Palestinians living in the Holy Land. Writers Chana Morgenstern and Andrea Brooks will conduct thirty interviews with people from across the region, who will be asked to describe and discuss the different homes they have lived in during their lives. Interview transcripts, video and photographs will then be used to create a multi-media exhibit and CD using text, video and still images to draft a map of human stories that span centuries and continents. The project aims to illuminate the temporal, historic, and spiritual complexity of Israel-Palestine through the prism of home, a concept at the core of the dreams, desires and conflicts of its people.
